NSW Police to outsource drug testing

Generally the NSW Police Force (NSWPF) conducts all drug testing (for roadside and internal purposes) at their Laboratory in Lidcombe. This will come to an end as of September and it will be outsourced to the NSW Health laboratory at North Ryde.

The NSW Health laboratory is appropriately accredited for urine and oral fluid testing and, whilst not intended, may end up being responsible for conducting confirmatory testing for Drug Driving matters.

The reasons for this decision are not being made public.
